We have given More Than a rating of 3.8/5. Here we explain how we arrived at this rating and why More Than didn’t score 5/5!
Many organisations unfortunately do not reveal how they reach their rating. We are doing so because our aim is to provide you with as much information about pet insurance policies as we can and so you can make your own judgement.

Policies
More Than have a good range of policies including a lifetime policy with a high level of cover.
Benefits and Small Print
More Than policies include cover for euthanasia (either as optional or standard).
Only the Premier policy includes cover for prescription food (unless used instead of medication).
All policies include dental cover for accidental injury – the Premier policy also includes dental cover for illnesses.
The death or loss benefit payable is based on the purchase price of your pet (rather than market value and/or use of a sliding scale).
In our opinion the small print is “clean” by which we mean we found very few other non-standard exclusions.
Renewal Premiums
Our research found many reviews complaining about high renewal premium increases. Unfortunately this seems to be common for many of the policies underwritten by RSA.
Customer Service
On the other hand most people seem very happy with customer service and claims handling although we did find one or two negative comments. More about More Than customer reviews.
Excess and Contribution
The fixed excess is average at £75 per condition per year (although this rises to £150 for pets aged 9 and over). You do not though have to pay a percentage for pets of any age.
