Policies
Purely Pets have a good range of policies including lifetime policies. The most comprehensive policy offers a reasonably high levels of cover.
Benefits and Small Print
Purely Pets include cover for euthanasia, limited prescription food and dental treatment for accidental injury.
The death or loss benefit payable is based on the purchase price of your pet (rather than market value). However this is discounted as the pet gets older. For example you receive only 90% of the benefit for a 1-year-old, 25% for a 6-year-old and nothing for pets who are aged 8 or over.
In our opinion the small print is has several exclusions which are not found in most other policies.
Renewal Premiums
Our research suggests that the majority of negative reviews about Purely Pets are about higher than expected premium increases
Customer Service
Our findings lead us to believe that the majority of Purely Pets’ customers are generally happy with the policy and service they receive. More about Purely Pets’ customer reviews.
Excess and Contribution
The fixed excess is high at £99. (The average across all pet insurance providers is about £75-£80). You do not though have to pay a percentage of the vet fees until your pet is 8 years old.
